Shelby Treme, Owner/Stylist

Shelby is originally from Church Point, LA and currently lives in Scott. She is newly married to John-Wyatt Treme and is expecting a baby boy in October 2022. Shelby has always had a love for the beauty industry. Shelby discovered her love for hair while spending a lot of time in her grandmother’s salon. She quickly fell in love with the industry and knew this was her passion at a young age. In high school she self-taught herself how to do professional makeup applications and would help most of her friends get all dolled up for homecomings, proms, parties and more! During this time she knew that this was what she wanted to do as a career. In 2016, she began working at an Aveda salon and again, quickly knew that the beauty industry would be in her future! During her senior year, she entered the 2016 Catwalk for Water competition which Aveda holds each year and won a fully paid $20,000 scholarship to her dream school. Shelby graduated from Aveda Institute, Lafayette in 2017 and began working behind the chair. After 2 full years of working behind the chair, growing her clientele, and continuing her education, she decided it was finally time to take a leap of faith and open Be You Salon. With the help from her amazing friends and family, Shelby opened Be You in January 2020 and it has been her dream come true. She says, “I couldn’t imagine in 2 years I’d be where I am today, and have the AMAZING work family that I have at my salon. I am truly blessed beyond measures.” Shelby’s vision has definitely come to life and continues to do so! In March 2021, Shelby attended JZ Style’s master certification class and got certified in beaded weft extensions which she has found a true passion for. Shelby hopes that everyone that enters the doors of her salon feels welcomed, relaxed, loved and beautiful!
